PTA Sub-Committees
Our sub-committees are run by members of the executive committee, along with parent and school volunteers. Please see the descriptions below for an overview of the function of each committee. If you are interested in being part of one of our committees, please email us at smokeriseespta@gmail.com. You must be a current, paid, member of the PTA in order to hold a seat on one of the committees.
Budgeting & Fundraising Committee

The Budgeting & Fundraising Committee will assist with the maintenance of the PTA budget by overseeing funds received or used during PTA-sponsored events. They will also handle the development and implementation of fundraising initiatives that generate money for the PTA, including sponsorships, donations, and membership drives.
Event Planning Committee

​The Events Committee will be responsible for the planning and execution of all PTA- sponsored events this year. This committee handles all aspects of event planning including logistics, safety and compliance, recruiting volunteers, vendor management, scheduling and decorating.
Reflections Committee

Glynisha Smith​
The annual Reflections Art program provides opportunities for recognition and access to the arts which boosts student confidence and success in the arts and in life. Each year students in pre-K through 12th grade create original works of art in response to a student-created theme. This years theme is titled "I Belong !" The Reflections Committee will work with the school and students surrounding the promotion of the program, as well as handling the submission of all entries. Additionally, they will be responsible for reviewing all entries and selecting a winner at the close of the program.
Connections Committee

The Connections Committee will work closely with the staff, administration, and parents at Smoke Rise Elementary School to understand their needs and concerns and connect them to the proper resources. They will assist with teacher-led projects such as room parent coordination and projects that may require volunteers or chaperones. They will also assist with the location of and referral of programs that may benefit the families of Smoke Rise Elementary.
